WEB 2.0

Web 2.0 is the definition of a web based network for example the whole if the internet. THIS is the definition from wikipedia. The interactivity, and customisation of many web pages is available in web 2.0; a major advantage. in other words, social networking is one of the major advantages, but also could be a disadvantage. Web 2.0 is not new software but the way in which we use the internet has changed; the most obvious way is social networking via global villages etc... and other means for example: 'Bebo' and 'Facebook'. Web 2.0 is a new way of interastion in referance to the changing world wide web. By uploading and Downloading information such as music and video, the internet has become more personal and interactive. Websites like youtube offer the user to upload videos for the whole world to see. This is a very creative way of using the internet but a lot of stipulation has arosen aroudn the idea of copyright infringement. There are a number of disadvantages of using Web 2.0 as many people could be hiding their real identity via an attractive avatar, in wesites such as second life. Some can use it as a illegal ring of crime, all online via chatrooms etc... Pushing all the negatives aside Web 2.0 is a way of enhancing social life through the means of the internet. The biggest inivitive steps taken i think is the use of RSS and XML feeds, which enables the user to subscribe to a a service which supplies them with information which is ready changing, for example different news stories every day, or what your "ebay" buying status is. This video more or less simplifies what Web 2.0 is and the advantages and disadvantages of it.This is a short video of what Web 2.0 is and what it is all about
